Thanks to all who came out to support our first event at Fluid Bar. Feedback was great. Musically it was
an amazing night and it was great to see so many heads come out to support it. There was a slight increase
of jaeger bomb consumption as the night progressed. It happens!
We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be hosting Room 3 at Fabric 24 June , at Fabric Live. With Playaz and Critical hosting
the other areas, it will be rammo, and we cannot wait.

Kokeshi Label Events Koming !
April is going to be a busy month, with Alley Cat DJing all over the place. Including 3 Kokeshi – related events !
First up is Dub Wars presents…on 2 April.
Then
22 April in Berlin we’re kicking off at Icon Club (home to Ninja Tune events, Ed Banger etc etc) with
Kryptic Minds, Alley Cat, Irrelevant and local DJs.
Last but not least, the first Kokeshi Party in London kicks off 30th April..lineup revealed soon. Save the date!

we’re # 7 amongst amazeball remixes including Instra:mental’s remix of Commix’s Japanese Electronics which is one of my faves from last year. Kokeshi 004 A is one of the few dubstep remixes mentioned in this list. Even cooler. Thanks!

Alley Cat over at Kokeshi slipped us a preview of their newest release the other day: Kokeshi 004: Lung – The Remix 12″.
Lung released his debut record back in December of last year on Kokeshi to warm reviews. A deep, sexy, atmospheric journey into dubstep, it was compared to the music of Burial and his emotional take on the genre. Now Kryptic Minds have managed to take the star track, Afterlife, and make it even sexier.
Kryptic Minds have been featured heavily in the world of dubstep in the last few months, and their newest album “Can’t Sleep” is set to drop sometime next spring. Here, their talent for deep and brooding bass-heavy music really shines, and melds perfectly with Lung’s like-minded style. It’s a great track, a perfect lead-in to something aggressive, yet strong enough to stand on its own. The B-Side remix of Lung’s “Broken” by Irrelevant is also no sleeper, and continues the deep melodic theme of this record.

“Yeah I’ve waited too long on this one. Hailing from Cardiff, Lung. is highly-talented dubstep/drum & bass producer. One of his most popular tracks to date is entitled, ‘Afterlife‘ and putting any remix of it aside, the original is simply brilliant. Dark, intricate, and to some extent enigmatic the beat is effortlessly abstract.
I stumbled across a remix from none other than Kryptic Minds around early July and i’ve been waiting for a better version to drop before I unleashed it on you guys but fuck it. Bearing in mind my love for the duo may make my views slightly biased, this remix is incredible.
One thing that is starting to piss me off ever so slightly is how some people are comparing the track to the work Burial and then have the nerve to say the duo are just copying his style. Hmmm… OK two things. Firstly, although Burial’s work is some of the best i’ve ever had the pleasure to listen to, you can’t just give him this entire sub-genre of dubstep. Secondly, other artists are and indeed should be trying to make something of a similar nature as opposed to slapping a few drops and wobbles here and there in their music. It really is a shame how some artists can just repeat the same trick in every track of theirs and get away with it.”
